About the role
The QA / QC Chemist will be responsible for quality assurance and quality control across the Adelaide laboratory. Responsibilities for this role will include but not be limited to the following:
- Ensure that all analytical data has the best possible precision and the highest accuracy within the bounds of commercial responsibility.
- Maintain accuracy and precision of all analytical data via the use of comprehensive programs of internal, national and international standards and duplicate/repeat analyses.
- Observe and correct any trends detrimental to the precision and accuracy of reported data.
- Review analytical data produced within the laboratory for conformity and correctness.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of non-conformances.
- Trouble shoot where appropriate.
- Make recommendations and suggestions that may improve quality, productivity, and safety in the laboratory.
- Assist with proficiency testing programs.
- Assist in the selection of appropriate reference materials for jobs.
- Assist with the maintenance of the quality management system and accreditation as appropriate.
- Liaise with other employees and departments to provide sound technical and professional advice.

- Sound relevant administration knowledge.
- Sound knowledge of Intertek policies & procedures.
- Understanding of quality processes.
- Understanding of relevant software package.
- Intermediate IT skills.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot in routine situations.
- Relevant tertiary qualification,
- Prior industry experience.
