What's the role about?
- The Automotive Technician role is to perform a range of engine & mechanical tests, to diagnose, repair, and service as per the detailed Toyota product warranty guidelines, company policy, and workshop supervisor instruction.
- Providing expert advice in relation to the current mechanical condition of vehicles.
- Mentoring junior technicians and contributing to the growth and development of the service department.
- Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission, and the suspension systems.
- Reporting all necessary work, service, or repairs to the Service Manager and recording information using in-house databases or reporting systems.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to the dealer product range.
- Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment.
- Ensuring the safe work practices of all staff.
- Test driving and conducting quality assessments prior to the delivery or return of vehicles to customers.
- Other duties as directed.
To be considered for this role you’ll need to meet the following requirements.
- Mechanical Trade Qualifications
- Valid Australian Work Right
- Hold current drivers’ licence.
- Strong communication skills.
- Mature minded, competent mechanic.
- Excellent critical thinking skills.
- Well-presented and customer first focused.
- A positive attitude.
