Quality Checker - Plate Room (No Experience)

Our client, a multi-national manufacturer is a leader in the supply of corrugated cardboard and packaging.

Due to growth, a fantastic oppportunity has now become available for someone who is happy to take 1 or 2 steps back in order to move 3 or 4 steps ahead!

What we mean is, our client is now seeking to appoint a Quality Checker with No Experience - as full training is provided in a temporary with a view to permanent capacity.

The successful applicant would also maybe in their current pastime, enjoy hobbies such using computers, graphic design or even reading books.

Where they have always seeked a position that can combine their current skillset with their personal hobbies into the one job!

We want an enthusiastic learner who has had some manufacturing experience. They will also be mechanically minded, have good computer literacy skills and want to take the next step in their manufacturing career!

Think of this role Quality Checkeras an apprentice like job where in return for your keen eye for detail, strong computer literacy skills and willingness to learn you will be rewarded with being part of a highly experienced supportive team and given the tools to succeed.

Duties will include:

• Working in a hybrid office / Plate Room workshop (located within the manufacturing plant)
• Daily computer work where you will be trained to use their systems
• Checking artwork templates (reviewing numeric, alpha and graphic information to look for defects against the original)
• Operating a semi-automatic flexo plate machine which you will prepare and mount finished plates (a plate is what they use in production and is a fairly straight forward process)
• Final checks carried out on each finished plate by checking its height, quality and any defects
• The role is full-time hours working Monday to Friday
• It is a Temporary with a view to Permanent appointment where you will commence on a casual hourly rate of $29.04 per hour + superannuation then progress from there

Not only will the successful applicant have a very strong eye for detail but will also be fluent in reading and writing of English.

In addition we are seeking:

• Intermediate level of computer literacy skills
• Previous experience or exposure working within a manufacturing environment
• Enjoy working in a small team within a large organisation
• Excellent communication and written skills
• Ability to be tasked with checking designs, day in, day out
• Keen to learn and be someone who enjoys working on their own as required
• Has no issue in undertaking training to learn how to operate flexo plate equipment
• Ensure all workshop activities comply with company HSEQ processes
• Be willing to continuously learn

The Offer
