Quality Control Chemist

About the Company:
Our client is a leading Australian radiopharmaceutical manufacturer, who are eager to expand their Brisbane team with a new QC Chemist.           
About the Role:
As a QC Chemist, reporting to the Facility Manager, you will be responsible for product manufacturing, analytical testing of in-process and finished products via HPLC, GC and classical wet chemistry techniques, as well as providing support with data analysis, reporting and documentation review/development.
Due to the nature of the business, the successful candidate must be available to work early mornings with shifts starting at 5am Monday through Friday.
Duties:

• Perform Quality Control tests and equipment calibrations in line with documented processes and procedures;
• Attend to preparation and management of reference standards and reagents;
• Attend to data analysis and reporting against product specifications, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all records;
• Assist with documentation development and review;
• Perform validation of new and existing equipment, products and processes where necessary;
• Troubleshoot and perform scheduled equipment maintenance;
• Conduct and support investigations regarding out of Trend (OOT)/Out of specification (OOS);
• Act as an Authorised Person – Release for Use.

Skills & Experience:
To be considered for the QC Chemist position candidates must have:

• A science or pharmaceutical degree (ideally chemistry);
• Attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to follow standard operating procedures;
• Good interpersonal skills that will allow for strong collaboration within a team working environment;
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work within deadlines;
• Ability to work without direct supervision;
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tasks and systems;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Experience in HPLC and/or UPLC method development and optimisation of test procedures, including complex samples (minimum 2.5 years);
• Enjoys hands on laboratory work;
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution;
• Previous experience drawn from Pharmaceutical (GMP) or a related industry (desirable).

Additional Requirements:

• Reliable transport;
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to commence in the role;
• A pre-employment medical will be required prior to the commencement of employment.
