This maximum term role will be available until July 2025. The Primary responsibility of the QA Engineer is to ensure work is delivered to specification and complying with procedures and management plans in order to ensure a quality client outcome. Key Responsibilities include:

HSE:

  • Prioritise health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a culture of safety awareness.
  • Lead by example in addressing safety issues promptly and effectively, escalating unresolved issues when necessary..

Quality:

  • Ensure all work is delivered according to project specifications, promoting quality awareness among project personnel.
  • Maintain quality control in various areas including budget, scheduling, planning, and personnel performance.
  • Review procedures to prevent repeat issues and implement quality documentation.
  • Manage implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and lot records.
  • Identify and resolve non-compliance issues, preparing non-conformance reports as needed.
  • Actively participate in defect rectification works and manage subcontractor compliance with quality management systems.

Other duties include:

Financial Management:

  • Review documents for changes and discuss potential impacts with the project manager, contributing to potential variations.

Procurement:

  • Review technical data and compliance documentation for permanent materials.
  • Develop subcontract documentation as necessary.

Design Management:

  • Submit, resolve, track, and close out Requests for Information (RFIs) and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Track design changes, assess scope and time issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and constructability issues.

Interface Management:

  • Attend and contribute to weekly planning meetings with project managers and clients.
  • Manage interfaces between subcontractors and other work groups within designated areas.

Subcontractor Management:

  • Understand and adhere to subcontract agreements for all subcontractors reporting to your work team.

Employee Relations:

  • Understand and implement project industrial agreements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Tertiary Degree - Engineering / Construction management.
  • Proven experience in Quality Engineering or a related role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and project management software.
