Additionally, we actively engage in social justice and advocacy efforts that affect the lives of the people we serve.About the RoleAs a Quality Improvement Specialist, you will play a key role in our Residential and Home & Community Health Care teams, focusing on providing coaching, advice, and support to build capability and capacity within the local operational team. Your specialization in auditing, accreditation, complaints, and incident management will be crucial. Additionally, as a Registered Nurse with Uniting, you will practice holistically, using your critical decision-making skills to lead the team.Travel is an expectation as part of the role.Work location is flexible and you can work from Yamba, Goonellabah or Kingscliff depending on your location.In collaboration with the Quality Improvement Lead, you will manage and facilitate improvements, developing key quality management strategies, initiatives, and plans to drive continuous improvement. Travel will be required depending on the number of negotiated hours.Furthermore, you will liaise with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, making your strong people and communication skills imperative to your success. It is essential that you are highly organized and efficient, with the ability to listen to the needs of management, staff, and clients.Your experience ticks the following boxes:
- You'll have previous registered nursing experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin a career in aged care if you have nursing experience in the wider health sector
- Must be a registered nurse with Aphra registration.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Quality Improvement/management role within a health or aged care setting
- Flu vaccination
- Demonstrated experience in providing advice on complaints management and clinical investigations
- High-level understanding of contemporary approaches to quality management in the health and/or aged care industry
- A demonstrated passion for social change and contributing to an organization of influence for the most disadvantaged
- Skilled at navigating a complex organization, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required
