Luerssen Australia was established in 2018 to commence construction of 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Australian Navy over a 12 year period. We work closely with our customer and stakeholders to deliver excellence in service.

The Role
This role will conduct quality assurance and control activities and support the implementation of Quality plans within the SEA1180 Program.

As part of continual improvement the role of our Quality Inspectors is to apply lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques to identify opportunities for improvements and to lead subsequent initiatives to convert these into tangible results. This role also focuses on improving both operational and quality performance in a sustainable, long term manner across Luerssen Australia's operations

This role will be required to co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure consistency of approach and successful delivery of the SEA1180 Program.

Responsibilities

• Ensure SEA1180 Program products meet quality requirements and standards
• Identify and raise Non-Conformances on products and manage stakeholders deliverables to closure
• Monitoring and implementing quality assurance and control processes to improve governance compliance and effectiveness
• Identify, develop, and implement improvement opportunities.
• Ensure all activities undertaken and/or reviewed comply with all relevant legal/regulatory requirements including the (Relevant Industry Acts) and Regulations and Luerssen Australia internal policies and procedures.
• Ensure that effective working relationships are built and maintained with other departments and stakeholders
• Promote strong culture of customer focus and stakeholder engagement.
• Practice and promote two-way communication within the Quality team
• Engage in open, honest and timely communication across the business focussing on two- way communication to better achieve business goals.
• Implement agreed actions to minimise risks
• Describe and raise residual risks not previously identified.

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in one or more of the following disciplines and/ or an equivalent level of relevant work experience in the field
• Structure and or weld inspection
• Pressure Vessel inspection
• Proven experience within ISO 9001 Quality Management
• Experience with Quality Control and Quality Assurance
• Inspection experience in relation to one or more of the following: structure, weld, pressure vessel, insulation, cold outfit, compartment completion and or acceptance.
• Experience with quality management of sub-contractors and suppliers in ship building (supplier evaluation, and monitoring)
• Experience in working in large and complex programs
• Experience in managing multiple activities and priorities and ability to deliver agreed content within required timeframes
• Demonstrated customer and stakeholder engagement
• Experience with report writing
• Improvement methodologies
• Statistical Process Control Tools
• Microsoft Office Suite ? intermediate to advanced skills
