Quality Safety & Risk CoordinatorPermanent, 8 days per fortnightSunshine CoastHybrid working strongly supportedAccess to salary sacrifice and other company benefits The opportunityThe role requires an individual who can provide leadership, direction, and coordination of the state quality, safety, and risk program. The candidate should be able to align the program with the Best Care Strategic Quality and Safety Framework and implement all clinical governance systems. The role is responsible for collaborating, enabling, and implementing state-based safety, quality, and risk functions to support point-of-care staff in delivering Best Care. The candidate should actively lead and contribute to a culture of improvement and teamwork. Key responsibilitiesSome of the major accountabilities are:Facilitate the integration, continued maintenance and evolution of the continuous improvement program in alignment with quality standards and goals established in the Best Care Framework.Act as a quality, safety and risk resource to operational services by ensuring clarity of focus on quality, safety and risk in the delivery of sustainable services to the community.Provide leadership and support for the achievement of the Best Care strategic and operational objectives to the business unit/state in relation to delivering best care every time.Best CareSupport teams and clients to have input into, and achieve, the Best Care actions through discussion, role modelling, robust implementation and feedback systems.Set clear expectations for team members and contractors, give them permission to pursue Best Care, make it as easy as possible for them to achieve it and hold them to account for their role.Quality ImprovementProvide innovation, improvement and risk management infrastructure, measurement, reporting, coordination and technical support for line managers to pursue Best Care, and the Board and Executive to govern and lead Best Care.Coordinate and maintain the rigor of the State Quality and Safety systems in alignment with National Policy, Procedure and Frameworks.Liaise with staff to promote awareness of the quality improvement cycle and foster a culture of ‘Best Care’ within the organisation.Provide oversight to the quality audit program ensuring databases and systems are up to date to effectively manage audit data. Maintain the register of Quality Improvement Activities in MARS.Carry out statistical analysis of data generated by audit and establish an appropriate format to present the data to relevant parties.Participate in benchmarking activities and provide assistance in producing action plans to generate performance improvement.Participate in relevant committees, working groups, and more.Incident Management and Open DisclosureCoordinate, facilitate, and influence the management process of state-specific incidents to ensure key performance indicators are met.Review client incidents/feedback for completeness and accuracy of severity rating, escalating significant incidents appropriately.Liaise with necessary parties to review significant incidents requiring Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and assist in developing and implementing system improvement initiatives.Facilitate the incident process to ensure appropriate action and monitoring is undertaken.Maintain awareness of and compliance with the client incident and feedback – mandatory reporting and management policy.Collaborate with the Client Incident Manager to improve and streamline processes and timely reporting systems to monitor and track client incidents and feedback.Risk Management, Compliance, and AssuranceWork with Risk and Assurance to identify operational and strategic care-related risks at an organizational, committee, and department level, and related controls, strategies, and treatment plans.Facilitate reviews and updates to risk registers.and enhance local relationships to ensure risk management, compliance, and assurance activities are integrated across Silver Chain Group. About youTo be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and obtained the following qualifications:Demonstrated experience in quality improvement and incident management in a care setting.Demonstrated leadership skills in the development and implementation of risk management and compliance systems and reporting.Demonstrated understanding, knowledge, expertise, and achievement of National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards, Aged Care Quality Standards, and other external assessment and licensing requirements.Demonstrated experience in implementing change in a care delivery environment.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to implement and maintain an effective client incident and feedback reporting system.Demonstrated understanding of the process for escalation of serious incidents and feedback.Demonstrated understanding of audit principles to contribute to the maintenance of the client incident and feedback management systems.High-level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, committed to actively contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.Demonstrated foundational conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze information and provide reports relating to findings.Highly developed organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet agreed targets and timelines.Sound computer skills, including the ability to use and maintain relevant databases.Desirable:Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, relevant Health qualifications, or working towards same in approved circumstances.Post Graduate qualifications in quality/risk related field.
