About the Role
The Quarry Superintendent oversees all aspects of quarry operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. Skilled in team leadership, production planning, and environmental management.
Responsibilities:
- Directing and managing all aspects of quarry operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Leading and supervising quarry staff, including equipment operators, maintenance workers, and administrative personnel.
- Managing quarry equipment, including maintenance, repair, and replacement, to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations and implementing best practices to minimize risks.
- Implementing quality control measures to ensure that quarry products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
- Preparing reports on quarry operations, including production, safety, and environmental compliance, and maintaining accurate records.
- Several years of experience in quarry operations, including supervisory or management roles, is typically required. Experience with drilling, blasting, and heavy equipment operation is also beneficial.
- Strong technical knowledge of quarry operations, including drilling and blasting techniques, equipment operation, and materials processing.
- The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks as required in a quarry environment.
- A valid driver's license may be required, as the role may involve travel to different quarry sites or meetings with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of and commitment to safety regulations and best practices in quarry operations.
- Ability to identify issues, analyse data, and develop solutions to improve quarry operations.
