Quarry Supervisor

MGM is a family-owned business with 65 years of experience within the bulk haulage and quarrying industries, servicing mining companies that require bulk haulage, storage, ship loading, and stockpile management services, across Western Australia.

MGM Bulk’s Quarry division is looking for an experienced Quarry Supervisor whose primary focus will be to assist the Quarry Manager in the safe and efficient production of limestone, sand and gravel, from several quarries within the South West (Bunbury) region. You will be joining a well-established operation to drive safety leadership, plant efficiencies, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and team development.

What we are looking for -

• Demonstrated experience as a Quarry Supervisor with experience operating mobile and fixed plant equipment in quarrying or mining operations
• Nationally accredited tickets for Front End Loader, Dozer, Dump Truck and Excavator
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues utilising your strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical reasoning abilities
• Comprehensive knowledge of the WHS Act and accompanying regulations

The main responsibilities will include - 

• Actively promote and ensure safe work practices and standards under the WHS Act and regulations at all times
• Provide supervision, leadership, and support to Quarry employees
• Assign job activities to Quarry employees in removing and crushing product
• Carry out general site inspections on equipment and machinery maintenance
• Schedule repairs and other maintenance with the maintenance department as needed
• Assist the Quarry Sales Manager with the planning and scheduling of raw materials from the Quarry
• Conduct and participate in safety meetings and safety inspections of work areas and procedures
• Evaluate and monitor the suppliers of externally provided products and services
• Maintain specified records of quarry and mining activities
• Promote continuous improvement strategies and plans
