Radiation Oncology, Division of Cancers Services, Princess Alexandra are looking for an Advanced Radiation Therapist to join their team to provide operational management, advanced level clinical expertise and clinical leadership to a team of Radiation Therapists ensuring high quality radiation therapy treatment in the following clinical service areas: Radiation Therapy Treatment, Radiation Therapy Planning and Quality Assurance.

About the Role:
- Maintain clinical specialist level expertise in radiation therapy treatment and planning practices, applying this daily to complex, critical decision-making situations within clinical unit to provide high quality radiation oncology service for patients.
- Provide accountability for quality within the respective clinical service area through weekly audits to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Set and ensure compliance with working practices and standards that provide for safely delivered radiation therapy treatment, maintaining a sound understanding of all external legislative and internal policies and procedures that impact in the relevant clinical service area.
- Provide clinical specialist level expertise in the development of clinical protocols that meet international best practice standards, including such changes as required by technological and medical advances.
- Advocate on behalf of patients to ensure informed decisions are made and to assist in the resolution of problems through liaison with other specialist oncology groups.
- Provide clinical leadership to Radiation Therapists to ensure high quality radiation therapy planning and treatment to radiation oncology patients utilising evidence-based principles to identify and implement continuous improvement changes.
- Continually utilise high level interpersonal and conflict management skills to maximise teamwork potential.
- Provide mentoring to staff in order to develop skills and knowledge, promoting best practice, provide performance appraisals for Radiation Therapists and collaboratively produce development plans that assist staff in attaining professional goals and support staff undertaking research within the clinical service area.
