About the Role:
* Professionally and operationally apply expert clinical knowledge in radiation therapy practice to contribute to the delivery of radiation therapy services, and by utilising this expertise facilitate a coordinated approach to the successful implementation of new technologies and techniques on a statewide basis.
* Apply this expertise to solve large-scale and/or complex operational or work-flow problems across the multi-disciplinary team.
* Establish, manage and analyse the effectiveness of Quality Assurance Programs and standards developed to maintain adherence to The Radiation Safety Act and other relevant legislation in consultation with senior personnel; including management of incident reporting processes.
* Provide regular expert consultancy to internal and external bodies, agencies and the public with regard to professional, technical and ethical aspects of radiation therapy at a departmental, district, Area, State and National level
* Provide active leadership in the development of high-level service improvement initiatives, change management and professional competence in the radiation therapy treatment area on a State-wide basis and implement these initiatives within the immediate work unit.
* Contribute to financial management through providing advice for the development of departmental service plans, the annual budget and in the requisitioning of specialised supplies for radiation therapy whilst ensuring financial decisions are made within Queensland Health guidelines.
* Operationally manage Radiation Therapists by:
* Providing mentoring, education and equitable opportunity for all staff development
* Providing operational oversight of the treatment area
* Managing staff performance appraisals and collaboratively producing development plans that will assist them in attaining their professional goals
