Townsville University Hospital, located adjacent to one of Queensland’s leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University, is the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, providing specialist referral services for 700,000 people living from Mackay, to the Torres Strait, to the Northern Territory border.

About your opportunity:

Permanent full-time and part-time opportunities availableFixed term temporary full-time and part-time opportunities available, with the possibility of extension, up to 30/06/2025Location: Townsville

The Radiographer will:

  • Deliver medical imaging clinical service as a member of a multidisciplinary/ modality team to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health. 
  • Work across a range of modality services within Imaging under direction from senior clinical leaders. We are seeking radiographers with known experience in Emergency, General Radiography, and advanced modalities.
  • Provide education and impart knowledge to staff, patients, and the public regarding the clinical and safety considerations specific to medical imaging and provide a patient focus to the performance of duties.

  • Generous remuneration package value up to $132,730 p.a. comprising:
  • Salary range of $2941.70 to $4459.00 p.f. or $38.70 to $58.67 p.h. (HP3)
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Mandatory: The applicant must:
    • Hold current registration with MRPBA (AHPRA),
    • Hold a tertiary qualification specific to medical imaging,
    • Be eligible for Queensland Radiation Use Licence
    • Demonstrate evidence of professional development activities.
  • Desirable:
    • Australian Society of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy (A.S.M.I.R.T) Certification in either MR, CT, Angiographer (Cardiac and Vascular), Mammography, or Preliminary Image Evaluation (PIE).
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
