About your opportunity:
Permanent full-time / Location: Townsville
The Radiographer Team Leader will:
- Lead the medical imaging professional team in providing a dedicated imaging service to support the general radiography modality within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS).
- Operationally manage general radiography services on a day to day basis with specific responsibility for resource allocation, work-flow coordination, performance appraisal and management of allocated staff.
- Provide education and impart advanced level knowledge to staff, patients, and the public regarding the clinical and safety considerations specific to safety and provide a patient focus to the performance of duties.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Clinical: Advanced level clinical expertise and high-level capability to apply knowledge and skills independently to offer high quality, evidence based and patient centred imaging services.
- Collaboration, Teamwork & Consumer Engagement: Advanced level communication skills and organisational ability including experience in innovative models of care and complex problem-solving within a multidisciplinary team.
- Work Unit Management: Ability to manage workloads, staffing and rostering and to supervise staff and monitor performance and reporting requirements, ensuring safe and sustainable high-quality service outcomes.
- Leadership: Ability to provide active leadership in the ongoing development of high-level innovative service improvement and research initiatives, including identifying opportunities for expansion.
- Service Improvement: Demonstrated ability to lead quality and change management processes through collaborative development of radiography clinical practices, policies, protocols and the development of clinical standards.

- Salary range of $5395.60 to $5630.00 p.f. (HP5)
- 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading

Candidate Requirements:
- Mandatory: The applicant must
- Hold a tertiary qualification specific to medical imaging,
- Hold current registration with MRPBA (AHPRA),
- Be eligible for Queensland Radiation Use Licence.
- Desirable:
- Post Graduate qualification medical imaging clinical speciality,
- Possess an ASMIRT (Australian Society of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy) Certification in either MR, CT, Angiographer (Cardiac/ Vascular), Mammography, or Preliminary Image Evaluation.
- Demonstrated evidence of significant professional development activities.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Probation period may apply.
