We are currently seeking applications for HP4 Senior Sonographer position within the medical imaging department, Townsville University Hospital (Level 6 tertiary referral hospital with 755 beds). We are looking for a Sonographer to deliver high-level clinical ultrasound and provide professional leadership within a vibrant, supportive, multi-disciplinary team environment.
You will be a part of a busy and thriving team of sonographers closely supported by both radiology consultants and registrars, as well as the nursing and clinical assistants, as a part of our daily operations.
The ultrasound department consists of x5 general rooms, a vascular room as well as outreach services to Ingham & Palm Island. The varied workload includes general, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatric including neonatal ICU and emergency ultrasound, operating 7days/week providing on call and weekend services. The current range of equipment includes GE Voluson, Philips Epiq and Canon Aplio.

Generous remuneration package value up to $152,775 p.a.comprising:
- Salary range $124,435 to $133,901 p.a. (HP4)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 75% employer contribution to superannuation

Role Requirements
- Mandatory:
- Accredited Australian Sonographer Accredited Register (ASAR), with recognised qualifications
- Post Graduate qualification in Ultrasound, or
- An appropriate Degree or Diploma in Sonography from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Medical Radiation Professional (AHPRA):
- If a Radiographer, the applicant must hold current registration with MRPBA (AHPRA), with recognised tertiary qualification in a Medical Radiation profession.
- Hold a current Queensland Radiation Use License.
- Desirable:
- Evidence of significant professional development activities.
- Appointment to this position requires JP-certified proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle.
- Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids are required to provide evidence of vaccinations or proof that they are not susceptible (due to prior exposure to the disease and therefore have natural immunity) to the following VPD's Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis containing vaccine) according to the Queensland Health Policy.
