Ramp Duty Leader

Reporting to the Melbourne Airport Manager, Ramp Duty Leaderwill maintain oversight for the end-to-end daily shift operations of the ramp. You will ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance are maintained and lead the ramp team members to effectively meet the operational needs of the schedule.

Working in collaboration with the Customer Experience Managers, you will ensure we maintain network integrity and deliver our customer value proposition across the domestic and short-haul international operations.

In addition, you will:

• Work with AMCO and DOPs to ensure effective bay planning, towing and resource management that ensures a seamless operation.
• Deliver daily brief to Leading Hands and broader ramp team members for the shift including key safety items and ensure that team sight-and-sign is completed if required.
• Complete daily reports as required e.g. Shift Report / Scorecard.
• Lead and motivate the ramp team on a daily basis to drive Virgin Australia’s purpose and values.
• Participate in consultation of WHS matters as related to your working environment.
• Accountable for the daily operational performance of the ramp operations to meet safe OTP and financial targets.
• Be a safety champion and ensure you are aware of personal safety matters including the emergency procedures relevant across Melbourne Airport.
• Lead and motivate the ramp team on a daily basis to drive Virgin Australia’s purpose and values.

What you need to be successful:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience and competency in airport operations.
• Proven leadership capability in a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment.
• High-level interpersonal skills with the ability to be adaptable and committed in a changing work environment.
• Ability to effectively time manage, plan and prioritise tasks.
• Understanding of WHS, CASA, and workplace legislations and regulations
• Knowledge of enterprise bargaining agreements and application in the workplace
