Our client is seeking a Senior Rapid7 Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a key player, you’ll contribute to enhancing their security abilities and ensuring their systems stay ahead of the curve. The Senior Rapid7 Engineer will provide critical support to augment the team's existing workforce. You’ll be involved in exciting projects and capability uplift activities, aligning with the Department’s maturity level targets. If you thrive on challenges and have experience with Rapid7 products, we want to hear from you!- Configuring and Managing Rapid7 Insight VM: Your expertise will be crucial in handling the Rapid7 Insight VM product.
- Deployment to Windows and Midrange Servers: You’ll deploy Rapid7 Insight VM to both Windows and midrange servers.
- Authenticated Scan and Scan Assistant Agents: Configure and manage these essential agents.
- Installing Scan Engines: For large, segregated environments (50,000+ devices), you’ll set up scan engines.
- Custom Templates: Build templates tailored to business requirements.
- Scheduled Scans and Reports: Ensure timely scans and generate insightful reports.
- Essential 8 Mitigation Strategies: Implement Rapid7 Insight VM to meet ACSC Essential 8 strategies for patching operating systems and applications.
- ISM Controls Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISM controls applicable to Essential 8 Maturity Level 1.
- Asset Discovery Automation: Leverage automated asset discovery methods for vulnerability scanning.
- Vulnerability Scanning: Use up-to-date vulnerability databases for daily scans.
- Patch Identification: Identify missing patches or updates in internet-facing services and workstations, servers, and network devices.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven track record in configuring and managing Rapid7 products (Nexpose, InsightVM, and Scan Assistant).
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and patch management.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Rapid7 certifications, CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
- The ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex ideas clearly.
