About Our Role
Due to internal growth, a rare opportunity exists to join Simplot's Raw Procurement function in the role of Raw Intake Coordinator to be based at our Ulverstone location.
Simplot's Raw Procurement function comprises of farming and harvesting operations and they lead research and development that supports our potato and vegetable growers to ensure our sites have the best available produce for processing today and for generations to come.
Commencing in late January and reporting to the Agricultural Manager, this Mon-Fri role (with some seasonal weekend OT required) the Raw Intake Coordinator plans and schedules the intake of potatoes for production to ensure the factory objectives are met / exceeded. This role is also accountable for planning and scheduling the use of labour (in conjunction with the site Team Leader), materials and raw product (potatoes).
What You Will Do
  • Daily raw scheduling and working closely with the Field Officers to coordinate the harvest of fresh raw into storage and production.
  • Organise the raw material into the factory by working closely with production planning and match the raw material to the Plan.
  • Coordinates potato stored at multiple locations in northern Tasmania to what store will feed the factory.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for supply and production.
  • Ensure that the interface with other support groups is conducted in a manner that is conducive with operational goals.
  • Monitors raw inspection for accuracy in grower payment and improve knowledge of raw quality to ensure production success.
  • Main point of contact for scheduling loading and delivery.
  • Directs and coordinates the use and scheduling of raw product to meet quality, cost, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support distribution of delivery slip booklets to company and grower loading crews, either via field representatives or via site visits with company vehicle.
  • Provide harvest support in monitoring receiving activity at company storages and plant. Support training and supervision of temporary harvest labor.
  • Supports field department accounting staff in accuracy of raw delivery information and researching information issues.
  • Supports truck scale program troubleshooting and upgrade needs in working with all impacted parties and Company IT personnel.
  • Performs reconciliation between scale tickets and executed delivery plan to ensure information consistency and accuracy.
About You

  • Previous experience in an agricultural production environment or logistics role would be advantageous.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with existing and new internal / external stakeholders.
  • Positive communication skills with the ability to clearly define scheduling activities on a daily basis.
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve.
  • Good understanding of MRP planning systems.
  • Strong planning, coordinating and scheduling experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced user of the MS Office suite of products (particularly MS Excel).
  • Manage and coordinate a team of permanent Operators in addition to a casual seasonal workforce.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based D&A screening).
  • Possess a current C class drivers licence.
