BreatheSafe are a proud Australian company that strives to develop, manufacture and sell world leading dust control and air quality solutions to any industry that is exposed to dust or airborne contaminant, both locally and internationally. Following exciting growth plans, we are looking for a junior CAD Design Engineer to join our team based in Carole Park, on a Part Time basis.
About the role:
The CAD Design Engineer will be providing ongoing support to our Senior Designers as part of our Research and Development team. The primary responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson at BreatheSafe will be the continuous design and improvement of new and existing mechanical systems using CAD software across our Company. Whilst this will be your main focus, you will also be involved in:
- Rapid prototyping using 3D printers and in-house fabrication.
- Undertake mechanical engineering designs from conception to commercialisation.
- Perform assembly, testing and commissioning of new systems.
- Design and develop fabricated parts, steel and injection moulded parts.
- Support team with the integration of electrical and mechanical systems
About you:
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge using SolidWorks (or similar software and willing to learn SolidWorks quickly). You will have the ability to utilise this experience to efficiently complete work. You will also need to be confident in your ability to communicate effectively with teams throughout the business. This role will require you to possess the following attributes:
- Essential: Portfolio to showcase your skills and drafting experience withCAD. (attached as ‘Cover Letter' with application or forwarded to **@breathe-safe.com )
- Essential: Qualification or currently studying Mechanical Engineering.
- Not Essential: Ability to show that you have completed a project from start to finish. “Concept to commercialisation”
- Efficient communicator who can interact with not overly technical people at times and get a technical point across with minimal loss in translation.
- Self-starter with good work ethics, attention to detail and dependability. Our solutions need to work reliably in extreme environments.
- Creative thinker who wants to progress their career in engineering. You love to see projects go from concept to creation and enjoy collaborating with production teams throughout the journey.
BreatheSafe Hours of Work
- 6.30am – 3.45pm Monday to Thursday
- 6.30am – 12.30pm Friday
- Every second Friday off (long weekend)
