We are seeking a Junior Structural Design Engineer with experience in Structural Design across marine-related construction & maintenance projects.
Our client is a specialist Civil & Marine contractor offering bespoke services across major wharf, jetty, offshore pipelines, bridges and marine structures.
We are seeking a Junior Structural Design Engineer with at least 2-3 years (or more) experience in Structural Design across marine-related construction & maintenance projects. This is a permanent and ongoing position based in Brisbane's Western suburbs.
Responsibilities:
- Support Engineering Manager, Pre-contracts, and Project teams in developing engineering solutions, ensuring professional standards and constructability.
- Develop construction methods, cranage requirements, and detailed sequencing plans.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards.
- Liaise with project teams to resolve issues and progress methods.
- Prepare detailed lift plans, review high-risk plans, and audit lift operations.
- Provide in-house lift planning competency training.
- Develop temporary works design concepts and coordinate external designs.
- Oversee implementation of designs and ensure compliance.
- Manage Sharepoint and Power APPs for temporary works.
- Coordinate barge assessments and oversee structural works.
- Prepare barge layout plans in consultation with project teams.
- Attend and contribute to tender and project meetings.
- Assist team objectives and contribute to activities.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, communication, teamwork, and advanced computer skills.
- Knowledgeable in design, programming, financial, and contractual management.
- Deliver professional engineering designs, drafting, and documentation services.
- Ensure all documentation meets company standards and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders as necessary.
- At least 3 (or more) years experience in Structural Design
- Proficiency in construction methodology development, lift planning, and barge design management.
- Strong understanding of temporary and permanent works design.
- Proficient in engineering design, drafting, and documentation.
- Knowledge of HSEQ compliance, risk management, and interface management.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and innovation skills.
- Ability to demonstrate integrity, initiative, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Tertiary Degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Previous experience in the construction industry or projects.
- Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality policies and procedures.
