React Developer

What you’ll be doing: 

The role of a React Developer involves developing front-end solutions on exciting products such as our Virgin Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer website. You will use leading development practices and cutting-edge technologies, which will provide additional value to our guests and members and helps Virgin Australia to be Australia’s favourite airline. 

You’ll be great in this role if you have: 

• Extensive experience with rich JavaScript web application frameworks, such as React  
• Solid understanding of frontend technologies 
• Strong skills in core JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3,  tools experience (Gitlab, Jira, Confluence) 
• Expertise designing, developing and implementing high performance web applications 
• Experience with agile development methodologies 
• Good understanding of responsive design, browser behaviour, and compatibility 
• Experience working with responsive web designs and mobile websites 
• Ability to work under pressure, with minimal guidance and prioritise the handling of multiple activities at any one time 

Desirable skills:  

• Previous experience in “devops” and continuous delivery 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels with key internal and external stakeholders 
• Experience working in an environment with a high workload and competing priorities
