Salary from $76,873 (pro rata) per annum + Superannuation
Based at Wheelers Hill Library with the opportunity to work at other City of Monash locations

About the Position:
The Reader Services Librarian is responsible for developing and delivering a range of library services and programs with a focus on adult literacy to support the Monash community. We're looking for someone with an awareness of reader advisory activities in a public library setting, experience in hosting events, and an excellent understanding of library collections trends.
The incumbent will also work as part of the customer service team providing an efficient and effective library and information service to meet the library needs of the Monash community across our library branches, including evening and weekend shifts.
About You:
A tertiary degree qualification in Librarianship, Information Management or related discipline and eligibility for professional membership (librarian) of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA);
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development, provision and evaluation of adult library collections that support delivery of reader advisory activities and programs for adults in a public library or community setting;
Demonstrated understanding of current trends relevant to Reader Services in a public library or community setting;
Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence, including experience to dealing with difficult customers;
Demonstrated ability to work independently and to collaborate as part of a team;
Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and complete work to a high standard, within set timelines and with competing priorities;
Strong verbal and written communication skills in reporting and program planning and delivery;
Requirements of the position:
A current and valid Victorian Drivers Licence;
Working with Children Check (Employee);
Satisfactory National Police Check;
Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements; and
