Job Profile:
The Geophysical Data Processor is responsible for data quality control and reporting during data acquisition, processing data to final and produce high quality products based on project specifications and scheduled timeframes while in accordance with Xcalibur processing procedures and standards. The position will require the individual to work flexible hours as the workload dictates as well as field assignments depending upon project requirements. This role will require a considerable amount of travel for the first two years of employment on domestic and international projects. The role will also have responsibility to support the department manager in other duties as required.
Technical:
- Verify the equipment operational health during project start-up
- Perform quality control checks on acquisition data and ensure the data meets the project specifications
- Ensure that processing procedures are followed, and documentation completed accordingly
- Deliver products and reports that meet the internal quality standards along the allotted schedules
- Maintain regular backups and progress reporting
- Provide comments/recommendations regarding processing procedures and data quality standards
- Software testing
- Provide support for other team members
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients, project management team and field personnel.
- Liaise with clients to keep them informed of the status of their project deliverables
- Client deliverable presentations
- Report on any possible equipment issues after reviewing acquired geophysical data.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Engineering, Geophysics, or any related Earth Sciences
