The Australian Labor Party (NSW Branch) is the largest branch of Australia’s oldest political party. The Party endeavours to achieve the political and social values of equality, democracy, liberty and social cooperation. The organisation is made up of members and affiliated unions who work together to campaign for Labor governments at a local, state, and federal level.
Qualifications & experience
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, show initiative, have excellent attention to detail, hard working and have the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Previous work in office administration required. Experience in a membership based organisation is desirable but not necessary.
- Candidates must have excellent written and verbal English skills.
- High level of attention to detail to address project timelines and documents.
- You must be an Australian citizen.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Reception duties including greeting visitors, answering calls, mail functions and email monitoring.
- General office assistance including maintenance of office supplies, assisting with the cleanliness of the office and assistance with merchandising.
- Undertake First Aid Officer and Fire Warden duties.
- Assisting with membership duties.
- Liaising with Party members, Party Unit Secretaries and State and Federal Parliamentary members and their staff with membership enquires over the phone and in person with a high level of customer service.
- Providing support to the Membership, Finance, Disclosures, Fundraising and Other Teams as required. It is expected that you will be proactive with the Teams in providing your assistance.
- Assisting at the Annual State Conference and on election days.
