North Shore Junior Campus
Townsville Grammar School is one of the original Grammar Schools of Queensland. The Year 7-12 campus is located on the original site at North Ward. The School also operates two Junior School campuses, both offering Pre-Prep to Year 6, at Annandale and North Shore.
Townsville Grammar School is a co-educational, non-denominational School with a current enrolment of approximately 1250 students, including 125 boarders (7-12), of whom approximately 25 are international students.
As one of the eight original Grammar schools in Queensland, Townsville Grammar School was established in 1888 and has offered boarding since this time. The School has a long-standing reputation as the leading academic school in Northern Queensland, also offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Years 11 and 12.
We have a six-month part time (35 hours per week during term time) parental leave contract opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Receptionist/ Teacher Aide at our North Shore campus commencing in Term 2 2024. This is an important role in a busy environment and primarily a first impressions and communications role.
Reception duties include dealing with inquiries from visitors, students and parents, administration duties and appointment and email management for the Head of Campus, recording and monitoring student movements and absences, and ad hoc administration tasks.
The Teacher Aide component includes working with individual students and small groups in the classroom with a focus of literacy and numeracy, providing assistance to students with disabilities or learning difficulties and assisting in the supervision of educational activities under the direction of a teacher.
Prior experience in both areas would be an advantage.
Applicants must hold a Working with Children Blue Card or be eligible for registration. Applicants must be supportive of the aims and ethos of Independent Schools.
