Job description

We are seeking a skilled Recording Technician to play a crucial role in monitoring and maintaining the integrity of our track and overhead.

About the role:

 

Operate and maintain specialised track recording machines and associated geometry measurement systems while collecting, reviewing, integrating and interpreting track recording data.

Overview:

  • Provide technical advice to the track recording team and to the greater organisational audience.

  • Deliver (autonomously) on track inspections, operating specialised track vehicles and their recording systems.

  • Ensure track recording systems are available to deliver the recording program of works by performing general preventative maintenance inspections, and non-trade maintenance works.

  • Assist in the efficient completion of various Track projects.

  • Prepare and review operational, quality assurance and safety documentation

  • Highly organised and able to manage conflicting priorities.

 

Location and travel requirements:

 

Unique role which offers variety of field and office based working opportunities. 

 

Our Home Depot for this position is located at our Banyo plant maintenance facility north of Brisbane city, however;

This role will be also unique to someone who is willing to extensively travel throughout various Queensland and intra state locations where it’s likely you will be staying in different towns nightly and be away from home for approximately 21 days at a time on a rotational roster. 

 

When working in the field you may also be exposed to all weather conditions, field based working conditions and psychical demands. What we are looking for:

 

  • Ability to meet the location, roster and travel requirements of the role.

  • Current national unrestricted drivers licence.

  • Ability to work in a small team within small quarters operating track recording machines.

  • knowledge of track design, construction or maintenance principles, or display an ability to quickly acquire this.

  • Knowledge of operational procedures and associated safe working procedures used in the operation of mechanised plant or display an ability to quickly acquire this.

  • Substantial oral and written communication stills, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to following prescriptive work instructions, including performing routine maintenance inspections, and general non-trade maintenance work of track machines.

  • Always willing to work with a Safety Comes First Always attitude and mindset with a strong focus on risk analysis and problem solving.
