Records and Sentencing Officer - Government Contract Role
  • $34.79ph + super
  • ASAP start
  • Initial contract through to 12 July 2024 with view to extend
  • Parramatta location - Full time on site
  • Full time, Monday to Friday
  • Must have sentencing experience
The Records and Sentencing Officer will work to assist the Corporate Archivist to manage archival projects across the organisation and provide records management guidance to staff, as well as supporting the electronic and physical mail services across the business. We are seeking candidates with previous sentencing experience as well as a strong understanding of the State Records Act 1998 and GA39 to work within a small and friendly team in a supportive working envrionment.
Duties include but not limited to:
  • Archiving and Sentencing records both physically and electronically to comply with the State Records Act 1998 and GA39
  • Reviewing and updating existing archives and data
  • Assist with the annual cull of files such as preparing lists for assessment and sign off by management
  • Creating hardcopy records for transfer and electronic lodgement of files to offsite storage
  • Providing access to archives and responding to reference enquiries
  • Day to day management of incoming mail including sorting, classifying, indexing and actioning using TRIM
  • Liaising with staff of all levels across the organisation to ensure records management archive practices are integrated and consistent
  • A range of other administration tasks to assist the wider team
Required skills and experience:
  • Must have previous records sentencing experience
  • A working knowledge of archives and records management systems eg. TRIM Archiving and Sentencing records both physically and electronically to comply with State Records Act 1998 and GA39
  • Experience in processing access to information applications and in particular the retrieval of files, inspecting and investigating of files
  • High level of customer service and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • High levels of attention to detail, proven ability to positively and proactively manage multi task priorities within a Team
  • Sound administration skills and experience in an office environment
  • Ability to carry and lift small to medium sized boxes if required
