Seeking an experienced Records Management professional to support a small team close to Perth CBD

Your new company 

Your new role 

  • Review, develop and implement Records Management procedures and practices across the Authority, including file creation and tracking, storage and retrieval, correspondence control and distribution and mail handling procedures using Content Manager (TRIM). Progresses the development and ongoing maintenance of a functional and administrative thesaurus
  • Provide relevant timely advice and assistance to the Executive Director on compliance with the Freedom of Information Act and the State Records Act. 
  • Develop and implement the Record Keeping Plan consistent with legislative requirements, including the records retention and disposal process in accordance with relevant requirements.
  • Maintain sound knowledge of relevant information management / records legislation. 
  • Train staff in the procedures and operations of the Records Management system.
  • Provide advice to associated and volunteer groups on Records Management.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. 
  • Processes FOI claims 
  • Ensures the currency of FOI processes in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1992, and submits BGPA’s Information Statement to the Information Commissioner annually. 
  • Provide FOI annual reporting statistics. Administration 
  • Undertake general administrative tasks 
What you'll need to succeed 
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the use of a computerised Records Management system (preferably HP Content Manager (TRIM)) 
  • Demonstrated experience in effective and efficient Records Management policies and practices, including compliant retention and disposal management, and maintenance of a functional and administrative thesaurus. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the State Records Act 2000 and the Freedom of Information Act 1992. 
  • Demonstrated experience of responding to varied internal and external customer enquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Well-developed written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to train and guide others in approved Records Management policies and procedures.
