About the Home - Bupa WaratahEmbrace Waratah – Bupa Waratah is a modern care home set in the quiet residential suburb of Waratah, Newcastle. You will be close to the local community with Waratah village shopping centre, parks including Blackbutt reserve, Newcastle Harbour and local beaches. It consists of 109 beds, with a variety of care units. You will also lead mental health and wellbeing programs which empower our resident's choices and independence. The Recreational Activities Officer role is available as both full time as well as part time positions. Duties Plan, organise, and lead activities for our residents that will meet social and recreational needs while also promoting independence and increasing quality of life.Assess and document the effectiveness of the programs, by tracking residents' progress and changing the programs as neededSkills and ExperienceMinimum of a Cert III in Leisure and LifestyleSenior First Aid Certificate is essentialPrevious experience within an aged or community care settingHighly developed organisation and time management skillsThe ability to solve problems independently Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAn understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and OutcomesBe at the Heart of It – your new team is ready to welcome you!
