Recruitment Officer (Foster Care)

Be part of a highly skilled team working in Centacare’s Foster Care program, which provides both specialist and general Foster Care for children aged 0-17 years in immediate, short term, long term and respite placements. 

The Role

The Recruitment Officer will work in Centacare’s Foster Care program, which provides both specialist and general Foster Care for children aged 0-17 years in immediate, short term, long term and respite placements. The role is based at Seaton, however, includes travel to other sites and locations within the community.

The Recruitment Officer is responsible for working in partnership with members of the community, families, Foster Carers, the Department for Child Protection, marketing professionals and other professionals in a multidisciplinary team setting.

The Recruitment Officer facilitates information sessions (in person and online) about Foster Care and is responsive to Foster Care enquirers and applicants, showcasing and providing information about Centacare’s Foster Care program. The Recruitment Officer has an understanding of the recruitment process, knowledge of key carer competencies, as well as an understanding of the program’s support provided to Foster Carers and their ongoing training and development requirements.

What you need to bring

• Qualifications in or equivalent experience in social work, community development, behavioural sciences or recruitment
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Safe Environments for Children and Young People certificate
• Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check. (previously known as ‘Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance’)
• Ability and availability to do some work outside of standard hours when required
• Experience in working in the In Care Sector (desirable)
