The sweet things you'll be involved in:Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Refinery Operator (Day). We are seeking someone who is highly motivated and results driven to join our team based at our Yarraville, VIC Refinery.This role is centred around supporting the refining processes by ensuring all filters are cleaned to schedule, site cleanliness is maintained, process chemicals are supplied, along with backfilling operator vacancies as required.Join one of Australia's most iconic and reputable food manufacturers where you'll be responsible for operating the refinery in a safe and efficient manner, whilst upholding quality and following set procedures. You will contribute to Sugar Australia's vision of identifying and meeting our customer needs of producing sugar by operating a best practice manufacturing facility.Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring a safe workplace through active participation in safety initiatives, including safety walks and emergency response drills.
- Adhering to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and actively contributing identifying and reporting hazards and incidents to Team Leaders to maintain a proactive approach to safety.
- Supporting the site's objective of improving housekeeping, cleanliness and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards by identifying areas needing attention.
- Managing factory consumables as required to support operational efficiency.
- Ensuring completion of all assigned tasks, in accordance with schedules and standards.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing best practices to streamline daily tasks.
- Maintaining accurate logbook records of completed tasks and ensuring compliance with GMP/HACCP checks.
- Ensuring safe interactions with forklifts and delivery drivers to uphold high safety standards.
- Participating in relevant toolbox, production and safety meetings and offering input where necessary.
- Once trained in at least one Operation station, become a valuable member of the shift teams for relief purposes when required.
- High School Certificate
- Forklift Licence
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in a Manufacturing or Operating environment
- Trade certificate and/or TAFE level diploma in Manufacturing/Engineering is highly regarded
- Mechanical aptitude
