Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio.

About the role You will be responsible for providing safe and efficient repairs, servicing and maintenance of the refrigeration system within our fixed plant in the Mining Maintenance area at Newmont Tanami.
In addition, you will monitor and manage the site’s water resources ensuring responsible usage and compliance with site and environmental standards.
About you
- You have a relevant trade qualification, ideally a Cert III Engineering – Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- You have experience maintaining various refrigeration equipment.
- You hold a current manual C Class driver’s licence.
- You are confident communicating with personnel at all levels in the organisation.
- You are decisive and have well developed problem solving skills.
- You are thorough in the assessment of your daily tasks, ensuring a good understanding of job requirements coupled with a genuine commitment to safe work practices.
