Refrigeration Mechanic

Contact Group is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic with experience in maintenance and installations for an immediate start on our Launceston projects.

Our projects span a mixture of government, industrial, commercial and domestic contracts. Our other divisions include; Electrical, Maintenance & Essential Services, Fire Protection, Facilities & Maintenance, ICT, Communications Fibre & Data, AV, Security & CCTV, HV, Renewable Energy & Generation and lastly, Automation. 

The Role

By joining us as a Refrigeration Mechanic in the HVAC & R Division you will be required to work Monday to Friday although the opportunity for some weekend and after-hours work may be available on an Ad-Hoc basis. 

Responsibilities include:  

• Aircon installation, maintenance & repairs 
• Handling basic repairs and maintenance
• Undertake day to day preventative/reactive maintenance
• Supervision of apprentices
• Fault diagnostic works including maintenance and refurbishment 
• Reporting of work carried out in our digital Job management system  

The successful applicant will have the following attributes: 

• Experienced in Refrigeration & Mechanical services installations, commercial works, maintenance and repairs 
• Competent person with excellent people skills and a clean and tidy presentation 
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team
• Attention to detail, problem solving and sound judgment
• Self-motivated and organised 
• Ability to use app-based programs 

Minimum requirements: 

• Cert III Refrigeration with current ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Practitioner’s license
• A current car driver's license
• White card 
• Willing to have a police check
• Willing to obtain a working with Vulnerable people card 

Desirable: 

• Gas would be highly desirable but not essential 
• Cert 3 Electrotech (dual trade)

$80,000 – $95,000.00 Plus:
