Based in Subiaco and Fremantle, Needhamair has been serving the residential and commercial markets in the greater Perth Region for over 46 years.
The Role
We are looking for a professional Refrigeration Technician to join our talented and motivated team, as a permanent full-time employee.
You will work independently and also as part of a team.
You will be involved in the maintenance, repairs and installation of Air conditioning systems in both residential and commercial environments.
All aspects of Air conditioning, maintenance, repairs and installation is available to the right person. Do you have a niche or prefer variety? We can accommodate either.
Our work includes from residential wall split to ducted and VRF systems, in both luxury residential homes, light commercial and new apartment projects.
Your duties will include:
- Repair, service and maintenance of Air conditioning equipment.
- Fault diagnosis
- Manufacturer’s warranty repairs
- Preparation of site diagnostic reports for servicing and replacement
- Removal and replacement of Air conditioning equipment.
- Handover and commissioning of newly installed Air conditioning equipment.

To be considered for this role you will have:
- Excellent working techniques and hand skills
- A good understanding of HVAC systems and controls
- Current Refrigeration Handling Licence (ARC)
- Current Restricted (or above) Electrical Licence
- Current "C" class WA drivers’ licence
- Construction White Card
- Experience in commercial & residential ducted systems
- VRF/VRV experience preferred, but not essential as we will train
- Excellent diagnostic skills or have a desire to learn more
- Ability to:
- assess and estimate requirements for repairs
- assess system capabilities to suit operating conditions
- work autonomously but also be a team contributor
- Basic tools (or we can provide in package)
- Good people skills
- Understanding of customer requirements and how to meet or exceed them
- Desire to succeed and continually improve your skills and knowledge
- Neat presentation
- Pride in yourself and your work
- Ability to work autonomously and enjoy working in a team environment
