Southern Cross Care QLD has an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join our team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Regional General Manager will provide overall leadership and accountability across All Care Services in Broken Hill and Mildura. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for building a culture in line with our values, delivering operational systems, service excellence, and financial stewardship.

About the role

The Regional General Manager is a critical leadership position based in Broken Hill, NSW, responsible for overseeing the operations of all Aged Care and Retirement Living Services in Broken Hill and Mildura. Working in this role you will be attracting and engaging a high performing skilled workforce, positively engaging the broader community, and driving the operational objectives outlined in our strategic plan. 

What will you bring to the role?

  • Extensive experience as a General Manager in a service-oriented environment such as Aged Care, Health Care, or Community services. 
  • The ability to inspire and cultivate a strong culture, motivating a diverse team to deliver exceptional care to our residents. 
  • A leadership style that is visible and engaging, fostering seamless interactions with our team, residents, their families, and national stakeholders. 
  • The skill to balance outstanding leadership with achieving financial goals, managing properties, overseeing teams, and handling various operational aspects of well-maintained facilities and services. 
  • Strong working knowledge of current WHS, Clinical and Quality legislation and frameworks.  
  • Excellent communication skills, with a passion for building strong relationships within the local community promoting the brand awareness and acceptance in the community. 
  • Knowledge of legislative and operating requirements within the Health/Aged Care industry, including Aged Care Quality Accreditation Standards and NDIS Practice Standards 
  • The ability to provide insight and operational leadership to the broader organisation synthesising strategic goals and objectives. 
Who is Southern Cross Care Queensland? 

Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago. They saw a need to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to some of the most vulnerable, the ageing population, in the community.

Since then, SCCQ has grown to employ over 1000 staff caring for and supporting more than 2000 people across 13 residential aged care homes, 5 retirement villages, 28 social houses, the National Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and home care services in metropolitan and rural Queensland.
