The Company
A highly regarded organisation that is internationally recognised in their industry. The business has continued to dominate the Australian marketplace over recent years and has significantly increased in size due to a successful acquisition. As a result, safety is a key priority throughout 2024 and beyond and therefore an exciting opportunity has been created to support the NSW business.  

The Role
Reporting to a NSW leader, you will be instrumental in providing day to day support and will take responsibility for a range of sites across NSW to drive a proactive safety culture. You will be accountable for providing support to the region by ensuring employees comply with the required WHS standards but most importantly provide ongoing coaching and support to a range of stakeholders across this high risk business.

This will include:

  • Educating and mentoring staff on the ground to enhance the safety culture
  • Developing and implementing WHS policies, procedures, SWPs, legislative updates and training
  • Evaluating and endorsing WHS Induction compliance requirements
  • Support the business units in undertaking incident investigations and risk assessments
  • Effectively manage RTW and Injury Management processes as required
  • Improve WHS systems including the Safety Management System (SMS) and the Learning Management System (LMS) 
Looking for a background with:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an HSE role
  • Certificate IV in Work, Health & Safety (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated the ability to deliver training programs on WH&S.
  • Porven background in Return to work / Injury Management knowledge and understanding.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships across a diverse portfolio of stakeholders
  • Passion to take ownership of multiple sites
  • Experience within a fast-paced organisation and geographically dispersed locations.
The Individual
The organisation requires a passionate and proactive safety professional with exceptional relationship building abilities to join the WHS team. This position is a critical part of the safety team which requires the individual to drive best practice within the team and provide the following skills and attributes.
  • Top notch communication skills is essential - ability to coach and develop one on one basis to enhance safety awareness, culture and best practice 
  • Display initiative with an ability to influence change
  • Ability to manage a range of priorities and a multisite business 
  • Energetic and outgoing with a can-do attitude.
  • Basic insight of mental awareness
