About the Role
  • Provide leadership, advice and support to the Aged Care Centres (hub) operational leadership teams in effective clinical governance and practice
  • Ensure all work is performed within a legislative and ethical framework to provide high quality service delivery supporting the rights and interests of seniors
  • Provide expert aged care nursing advice to Aged Care Centres within the hub, and various committees for the broader organisation
  • Review external authorities, accreditation and clinical outcomes and/or complaints to process improvements and to review clinical practice
  • Investigate and report on clinical incidents and/or complaints related to clinical issues.
  • Ensure that Aged Care Centres within the hub have clinical systems and processes in place to meet or exceed the Accreditations standards
  • Promote and embed best practice clinical processes across the Aged Care Centres within the hub
  • Provide clinical support and guidance for Care Managers and Care Coordinators across the Aged Care Centres within the hub
  • Prepare, or assist with preparation of appropriate responses to complaints as requested by the Business Manager
  • Converse with residents, relatives, persons responsible, employees and other parties in complaints and disputes resolution processes
  • Work closely with fellow Senior Clinical Managers to actively contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical services across IRT
  • Monitor the data within the Platinum clinical system to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, practice and legislation
  • Provide feedback including scheduled reports on progress against agreed objectives
To Be Successful You Will Have
  • Current RN registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) / NMBA
  • Post graduate qualification in Aged Care or relevant health discipline (desirable)
  • Certification / Qualifications as a Quality Auditor or Assessor in health or aged care (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior position delivering care services to seniors (eg Care Manager, Care Coordinator, Nurse Practitioner or similar)
  • Broad knowledge, demonstrated expertise and substantial experience in clinical care and clinical governance
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in the aged care sector including accreditation standards, legislation and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in internal/external reviews of quality health systems and/or quality improvement processes
  • Evidence of managing successful outcomes in relation to identifying trends and system deficiencies
  • Demonstrated passion for developing the knowledge, skills and understanding of people providing quality aged care
  • Superior verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills including the demonstrated ability to keep comprehensive and accurate records and prepare professional reports
  • Advanced computer skills in particular with organisational databases and Microsoft Office programs
  • Current driver's licence
  • Flexibility to travel, sometimes at short notice
