Our Lihir operation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Technology Portfolio Manager with a strong passion to efficiently manage a multi-site, large-scale, or complex Regional Technology Portfolio to deliver business value on schedule and within budget using world class standard project management methodologies. This exciting and challenging role demands a strategic and comprehensive approach to managing Regional Technology initiatives, emphasizing alignment, communication, leadership, process optimization, and strict adherence to safety and compliance standards. This multifaceted approach ensures the successful delivery of technology solutions that meet business objectives and drive continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Regional Technology Services Manager, you will direct, manage, and implement Lihir’s Regional Technology Portfolio, ensuring all initiatives align with Newmont’s corporate standards. You will lead and mentor Technology Project Managers across various projects, ensuring successful outcomes and adherence to timelines.  Your key focus within this role is to strategically lead the team in ensuring optimal resource allocation and availability to meet project demands, guiding the project teams through the design, and implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions, including software, infrastructure, data, and reporting.

Critical to this role is managing Safety and Compliance responsibilities include adhering to health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment, and ensuring the consistency, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of technology implementations by complying with established technology policies and standards. This role involves mentoring and coaching project resources to foster professional growth, and providing strong leadership in managing project scope, schedules, risks, and costs to ensure successful project delivery.

As a successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or other related fields, with strong knowledge of contracting, organization development, change management, technology trends, strategic planning, and management required for successful team performance. You will have proven experience in advanced technology, operational technology, automation, and control systems for mobile equipment, plant systems, and fixed equipment within a mining and processing environment.

You are a driven individual, with the ability to lead improvement and day-to-day operations with a multi-national team in a challenging geographically remote environment and work with multiple stakeholders across a wide range of disciplines.  Personal characteristics of resilience and adaptability are highly regarded for this role.
