The unit: Biloela Hospital Maternity Services is a Maternity and Midwifery Group Practice model. Our Maternity service provides woman centred care, reflecting the needs of each woman within a safe and sustainable quality system. Appropriately trained and qualified maternity health professionals provide continuous or shared maternity care to women who meet the service capability of the Biloela and Banana areas.
The location: Biloela is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Banana, Central Queensland. It is situated 120 kilometres inland from the port city of Gladstone at the junction of the Burnett and Dawson highways.

About us:
Biloela Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Biloela and Banana region. Our vision, outlined in our is for Biloela Hospital to be the Banana hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and a range of surgical services. We invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.
About the role:
The Registered Midwife is required to deliver competent, quality direct midwifery care, within a specific area of expertise and assisting in the achievement of service goals.
About you:
To be successful in this role you must have current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.

  • An understanding of the importance of quality, safety and risk in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to promote evidence-based care/research and quality activities and outcome.
  • Demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with all levels of staff, patients and general public.
  • Demonstrated commitment to participating in professional development activities.
What we offer:
Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $117,580 p.a. is comprised of:
  • A salary between $80,342 - $103,053 p.a.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
