The Nursing Services (Rural) Team at the Bowen Hospital are seeking applications for Registered Midwife's to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
The Registered Midwife (RM) provides midwifery services within the health service settings; and demonstrates competence in the provision of midwifery care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation and context of care.
Responsible and accountable for delivering quality patient focused, evidenced based nursing care providing leadership, direction and support to other nursing staff and students and working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in the Bowen hospital and community environment.
About the Team
The Bowen hospital is a 17-bed acute hospital which offers 24/7 emergency, inpatient and outpatient services. Some of the specialty services offered are Renal Haemodialysis and Day Oncology therapy.
A range of community health services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team. The Bowen Hospital Maternity team (medical and nursing) provide the women of Bowen and surrounding areas with comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care within a supportive team environment. Bowen Hospital is not a birthing service but provides care to women throughout pregnancy, outpatient assessments, postnatal home visits, healthy hearing and support through all aspects of pregnancy, birth and parenting. The Midwives provide an on-call service, nursing transfers to birthing facilities and/or manage imminent births at Bowen.
The Bowen Heath Service covers the Bowen area including North to Guthalungra and South to Eden Lassie Creek and inland to the Collinsville range.
