The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations with production planned of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to the ongoing progress of the Maxwell Underground Mine project, we are seeking an energetic and skilled RegisteredMine Surveyor. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, this is a key role within our site based technical team.
As the Statutory Mine Surveyor, your duties will include:
- Managing, and leading, the Survey Team providing coverage and activities across the site.
- Capturing, and compiling, data in accordance with the required standards and legislation.
- Facilitating the drafting and updating of various mine plans to meet statutory requirements.
- Maintaining comprehensive survey records.
- Supplying and maintaining survey control across the site, facilitating mine operations.
- Reconciliation of volumes within the mining operations and CHPP stockpiles.
- Preparing budgets and forecasts as needed.
- Aiding the implementation of survey systems and procedures.
- Maintaining the site survey equipment in good working order, updating software and firmware as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Tertiary Qualification - Degree or Advanced Diploma in Surveying (as recognised by BOSSI).
- Certificate of Competence as a Registered Mine Surveyor issued by BOSSI
- Earlier experience in a statutory surveying position in NSW is desirable.
- A sound understanding of responsibilities in relations to the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations and Mining Legislation.
- Intermediate Computer literacy.
- Confident in using AutoCAD Civil 3D software and Trimble survey equipment (underground and surface).
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Current Drivers Licence.
