- Remuneration: $70000 - $85000 (+ 10.5% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances)
Rural Care Australia is a community-owned not-for-profit organisation dedicated to delivering services that support our community and is governed by a skills-based volunteer Board.
The Registered Nurse (RN), works as a dynamic leader, overseeing the health outcomes of care recipients under the direction of the Clinical Operations Manager and Director Aged Services. The Registered Nurse is expected to work in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the facility to provide a service to our Care Recipients that meets their personal care and social requirements. Our Nursing teams demonstrate excellent time management, energy and passion for consumer-directed care, and the ability to implement appropriate clinical responses.
As a Registered Nurse you'll provide person-centered care to care recipients, ensuring a safe environment within the facility and applying your clinical skills to improve their quality of life and independence.
Key responsibilities
- Understanding of Regulatory Compliance, Clinical care, Quality Management Systems, Occupational Health and Safety and Continuous Improvement & Infection Control Management
- Understanding of best practice, evidence-based care, and consumer-directed care
- Ability to demonstrate superior leadership skills across multiple workgroups
- Flexible approach and demonstration of integrity, initiative, and professionalism
- Skills to liaise with and follow through with the advice of the Clinical Operations Manager
- Proven people and communication skills including relationship building, cooperation, conflict de-escalation and resolution, and facilitating open discussions

- Be able to respond appropriately to Care Recipients with physical and cognitive disabilities

- Understanding of the Aged Care Act 1997, Quality of Care Principles 2014, mandatory reporting obligations, the Australian Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Standards, quality systems, and documentation requirements including the Aged Care the Australian National Aged Care Classification funding model
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise diplomacy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Comply with legislative requirements consistent with the Privacy Act
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registered with the Australian Health Professional Registration Agency
- Satisfactory criminal history check (essential)
- Registered Nurse must have the rights to work in Australia
- Appropriate clinical skills relevant to the aged care environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills which support the health and well-being outcomes of care recipients
- Demonstrated ability to act in the After Hours Coordinator Role as rostered
- Demonstrated ability to support an appropriate culture
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet the objectives of care recipients
- Demonstrated ability to work within evidence-based policies and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Aged Care Act, mandatory reporting obligations, and the Australian Aged Care Quality Standards
- This position requires the employee to be fully vaccinated against COVID min 3 doses
- Up to 38 hours per week which may be worked across seven days a week
