The Role
SHQ is seeking to fill multiple new positions. This is an opportunity to join our dynamic team, during a time of unprecedented expansion of our clinical service delivery.
We are welcoming applications from RNs with an interest in providing high quality STI/BBV, and sexual and reproductive health services. Successful candidates will collaborate with a diverse team, maintaining a high standard of care and fulfilling our duty of care obligations consistently. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to work in a unique clinic environment, alongside doctors and nurses who share their passion and possess specialized skills in sexual and reproductive health.
The role will involve a rotating roster, alternating between clinic work and handling the SHQ telephone helpline service.
Your Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Experience
· Minimum of 3 years’ post graduate experience.
· Demonstrated interest and experience in sexual health or a related field and demonstrated understanding of the sensitive nature of sexual health and the importance of confidentiality for people accessing the service.
· Demonstrated ability to provide services to clients in a professional, non-judgemental and non-discriminatory manner.
· Possess exceptional communication and active listening abilities for the SHQ telephone helpline service.
· Ability to work autonomously and use independent practice.
· Ability to work as a team member through sensitivity to workload and needs of other staff, clients, and guardians; knowledge of own ability; demonstrating accountability for own practice, and ongoing peer and self-education.
Your qualifications and/or other requirements
· Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
· Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health (or equivalent).
· Certification as a Nurse Cervical Screening Provider.
· Post registration experience in the fields of sexual and reproductive health (including the ability to perform STI screening, cervical screening, immunisation, and contraception).
· A National Police Clearance no older than 6 months from date of issue.
· Current Working with Children check.
· Current certificate of immunisation and or evidence of immunity for (Hepatitis B, Influenza, Pertussis, Measles Mumps and Rubella, Varicella).
· Current certificate of immunisation for COVID-19.
· Current unrestricted Australian drivers’ licence.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
· Willingness to travel within Western Australia as required.
- A current CPR certificate
- Minimum 3 years post registration experience.
