We are seeking experienced candidates for Registered Nurse positions at Helping Solutions in Perth, WA, on a full-time basis.

About the role:

As a qualified nurse, you will support participants with appropriate provision of nursing care, while assisting with maintaining the existing state of health, according to individual care plans and participant needs. As a community nurse, you will be expected to work independently, communicating and advocating for your participants, using critical thinking.

This role will be both office based and community based on a full-time roaster. You will be working with a variety of participants, providing physical or psychological support when required. The role will also involve filing, logging, follow-up and review of participant care plan forms and documents.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Creating comprehensive health assessments and care plans aligned to NDIS goals.
  • Performing Clinical Procedures such as SPC's, IDC's, wound care, and continents assessments.
  • Previous experience working PEG feeding, complex bowl care, such as stoma care, and ventilation is essential
  • Experience working with people with disabilities, neurological conditions, palliative care needs
  • Training and assessing Support Workers on care needs, such as epilepsy and dysphagia management.
  • Excellent advocacy skills
  • Escalating incidents requiring further medical attention.
  • Demonstrating strong reporting skills.
  • Essential criteria to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Knowledge in Disability Care within the community setting
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • High level of computer literacy, demonstrated experience with MS Suite products
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively within a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain a pleasant and friendly working manner
  • Being passionate, self-motivated and adaptable to change
  • Outstanding time management skills and a high degree of flexibility
  • Adhere to and comply with Xanadu Group processes and procedures using appropriate systems when required.
  • Mandatory requirements:

  • AHPRA Registration
  • CPR & First Aid Certification
  • Your own vehicle & current driver’s license
  • National Police Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Approval
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Working with Children Check
  • You must have Australian working rights
