Our specialities in the Operating Rooms include gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, cardiothoracic, vascular, ENT, hands, neurosurgical, urology, upper GI, plastics, colorectal, paediatrics and emergency surgery. We also cover radiology, endoscopy and cardiac catheter lab. The post anaesthetic care unit (PACU) nurse provides care for patients immediately following an anaesthetic (general, sedation or regional) surgery or any procedure that has the potential to produce life threatening complications.What you'll be doingThe NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated knowledge and extensive clinical experience of PACU and/or surgical ward nursing.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
