Location: Tresillian 2U Mobile Service (job share position with negotiable locations either in Cowra, Bathurst or Orange)

This position qualifies for a Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (pro-rata part-time/temporary positions less than 18 months), and a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (pro-rata part time), under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (as taxable income).

Tresillian is pleased to announce this opportunity for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with post graduate qualification in Child and Family Health, to join the Level 2 referral service through an innovative Mobile Van-based model of service delivery

The Tresillian2U Early Years Parenting Service (T2U) is provided from a fit-for-purpose van. The T2U service will visit towns of lower population density within a designated area on a rotational basis providing individual consultations, group programs and community engagement activities. This unique service model provides greater access to care and support for families experiencing complex early parenting difficulties, while being connected for clinical support through the Tresillian network of services. The successful applicant will work as part of a team with an Aboriginal Health Worker, establishing key connections and opportunities for collaboration with local service providers to improve the pathways to care and support for families. 

The Royal Society for the Welfare of Mothers and Babies, trading as Tresillian, was formed in 1918 to coordinate early child and maternal health care services in New South Wales (NSW). Tresillian is now the largest early child and family health and parenting service in Australia, operating from four sites in metropolitan Sydney and numerous regional and rural sites supporting service provision to families across NSW, Victoria, and ACT. 

Tresillian is a Certified Child Safe Leader and is dedicated to creating a workplace environment where children’s rights are recognised and championed.

Tresillian provides local and state-wide services including health and parenting assessments; parenting advice; education; and support to families via a range of service delivery models including centre based day programs, home visiting, telehealth, helpline, internet, virtual residential and face to face residential services. Selection Criteria – Applicants must address the Selection Criteria 

  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse and or Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Child and Family Health (completed).
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, evidence based practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in attending to the physical, social and emotional needs of children, and their families.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of population health and primary health care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles and skills of working in partnership and the principles that underpin NSW Safestart, within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, including computer literacy.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence Class C.

Appropriate criminal record and child protection checks are conducted for all successful candidates. Employment with Tresillian is subject to having current immunity status that complies with the Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases - Policy Directive Immunisation History Complies with NSW Health Policy Directive PD2023_022. Appointment and ongoing employment will be subject to continued compliance with the Policy Directive.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 Immunisation Medical Exemption Form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. 

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.  Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.
