Registered Nurse (Child And Youth Mental Health Services - Access Team)

Provide clinical services in a culturally acceptable and respectful way that values the consumer and the other agencies involved in his or her care. Based in Robina and Southport.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Registered Nurse (Child and Youth Mental Health Services - Access Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Actively participate in the multidisciplinary team processes from clinical and discipline specific perspectives commensurate with level of experience
• Develop and maintain liaison and communication with consumers, families/carers, and other health care providers
• Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve consumers safety and care
• Provide clinical practice and operational supervision to nursing students

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses, or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing within an agreed period.
• A postgraduate Mental Health qualification or a Mental Health graduate year transition support program is required for appointment to this role. 
• Driver Licence
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time (12months with the possibility of extension)
• Base salary ranging from $3 079.50 - $3 950.00 per fortnight

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) is a free, confidential and voluntary service provided by Gold Coast Health. Our service is available to children and young people from birth to 25 years and their families who live in the Gold Coast region. Our clinics offer multidisciplinary teams who are experienced in understanding and working with the emotional and behavioural problems facing children, young people and their families. Based in Robina and Southport.
