- is an undergraduate student of nursing or midwifery; and
- is undertaking or has completed, on a full-time basis, the second semester of the second year of a pre-registration university program or is undertaking the fourth semester of a second year post graduate pre-registration university program in a nursing or midwifery qualification approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
- Practises under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife, assisting with the care of recipients of healthcare services, as delegated by the Registered Nurse/Midwife.
- Seeks assistance and support in decision making from a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife.
- Practises independently and interdependently.
- Assumes accountability and responsibility for own actions and delegation of care to Enrolled Nurses (EN's), Assistants in Nursing (AIN's) and healthcare workers.
- Demonstrates evidence of increasing autonomy and exercises greater levels of professional judgement in the clinical environment as the employee moves from a beginning to an experienced practitioner.
- Committed to positively represent the CQ Health.
- Ability to work well in a team and adapt to change.
- Ability to use negotiation skills to avoid conflict and work with others.
- Ability to communicate oral and written information promptly and accurately.
- Ability to communicate respectfully and thoughtfully with other staff, patients, and carers.
- A salary between $40.46 - $63.92 p.h. (Including 23% casual loading)
