What you'll be doing:
An exciting opportunity is now available for a Registered Nurse to join the Children's Ward Team located at Nepean Hospital. This is a Permanent Part time position working 2 days per week.
Your role as the Registered Nurse will see you work collaboratively to provide safe, compassionate, person-centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
This imperative position will see you Assess, Plan, Prioritise, Implement and Evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team to meet defined patient/client care objectives within agreed timeframes. At all times you will maintain confidentiality on all issues relating to patients/clients, colleagues and NBMLHD and respond effectively to emergency situations, the changing status of patients/clients, clinical concerns, adverse events, critical incidents and complaints.
You will act as an advocate to assist patients/clients, families and carers, make informed decisions in relation to their Health Care needs, treating them with respect and responding to their needs.

A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed:
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated experience and clinical skill as a Registered Nurse (including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent experience working as a registered Nurse).
- Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
- Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week.
