About the Opportunity

Fairfield Hospital are seeking adaptable, committed and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join the dynamic 1C Ward.

If you are looking for a truly generalist nursing experience, this is the role for you. You will be joining a driven team who look after a diverse patient base including acute respiratory, surgical and medical admissions.

The role allows you to gain various skills and experiences with hands on learning and development. You will become highly skilled and well versed in all areas of nursing and be exposed to high flow oxygen, wound care, glucose infusions and much more.

With a full time CNE on staff as well as regular access to a Palliative Care CNS, Respiratory CNS and a Wound Care CNC, you will be highly supported in the role and be part of the wider Multidisciplinary team. There are a large number of support staff on the team to assist you including AINS, Wards People and a dedicated NUM.

The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

Fairfield hospital is located in one of NSW’s largest LGA’s and is a hub of diverse cultures, ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds. This brings a range of experiences to hospital employees and provides varied learning and development experiences for all levels of Medical, Clinical, administrative and support roles.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
